That is because I close all comments after 30 days. It’s in my comment policy. Normally, the only things I get after that period of time do not qualify as good discourse.

Well, I did read your other articles before I posted that but I was just saying that because its something to live by for me 🙂

Why you try to live by that would be Romans 1:18-19, 28, 32 in action (cf. 2 The 2:8-10; 1 Tim 4:1-2; for an example of this same thing you’re doing in action, check Acts 24:24-25).

The only way you can proove anything wrong with homosexuality is because the bible told you so.

Even if that were true (it isn’t), so what?

I implore you to construct some other argument (I can see that “natural” weasel word argument coming now 🙂 ).

I have, and it does indeed involve that word “natural.” The Catholic Church has been around a lot longer than I have, so why don’t you go read it from them?

A particular problem that can appear during the process of sexual maturation is homosexuality, which is also spreading more and more in urbanized societies. This phenomenon must be presented with balanced judgement, in the light of the documents of the Church. Young people need to be helped to distinguish between the concepts of what is normal and abnormal, between subjective guilt and objective disorder, avoiding what would arouse hostility. On the other hand, the structural and complementary orientation of sexuality must be well clarified in relation to marriage, procreation and Christian chastity. “Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained”.131 A distinction must be made between a tendency that can be innate and acts of homosexuality that “are intrinsically disordered” and contrary to Natural Law.

Especially when the practice of homosexual acts has not become a habit, many cases can benefit from appropriate therapy. In any case, persons in this situation must be accepted with respect, dignity and delicacy, and all forms of unjust discrimination must be avoided. If parents notice the appearance of this tendency or of related behaviour in their children, during childhood or adolescence, they should seek help from expert qualified persons in order to obtain all possible assistance.

For most homosexual persons, this condition constitutes a trial. “They must be accepted with respect, compassion and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. Their is absolutely no argument you can make besides the bible told you.

You’re quite wrong on that, as I have shown above. But, since the Bible, the word of God himself, didn’t impress you, it is unlikely the dilligent efforts of his servants, writing in his name, are going to impress you.

So, that is why a fellow CAA member, Brennon Hartshorn, has pointed out a 100% secular argument against gay marriage right here.

I’m guessing you won’t be able to cogently answer any of this, so if you continue to comment here I will likely get something from you along the lines of respondants to me about the complimentary view of the sexes, i.e. that I hate and fear gay people. That’s a load of complete crap. No, I have a dear friend who’s a lesbian. The best New Year’s Eve party I’ve ever been to was hosted by lesbians, my wife and I were the only straight people there. I didn’t feel uncomfortable, and I’d unhesitatingly go back. I’ve been to a lesbian wedding ceremony–it’s not recognized by the state but some people still have a civil ceremony. And, I’m a big Elton John fan. It will be a sad day when he retires.

You’re right, I’m sorry. Let’s remove ALL Christian beliefs from U.S. law, just so we can absolutely draw a solid line and make certain that everyone knows the U.S. is a secular nation, starting with any of the 10 Commmandments that were codified into the law. Let’s see, that means that we need to remove all mentions of larceny (theft). And murder. I’ve always thought crimes like perjury and obstruction were just silly to begin with, so those should go.

Marriage and divorce in general were Christian institutions, regulated by the goverment. So let’s just eliminate those antiquated institutions. Hey! That solves the gay marriage debate, since no one can marry!

Okay, Easter and Christmas shouldn’t be federal holidays anymore. Can we still sell cards on Valentine’s Day? I think so; government should stay out of private business. So Hallmark is safe!

All of the big universities (Harvard, Yale, Princton, Notre Dame) were founded to further religious education. Should we close them? I’ll leave that question open, but we should definitely stop federal funding for them!

What other biblical principles were codified in law? Oh, yes, that whole nonsense in the antiquated book of Deuteronomy about eliminating poor people by giving freely of our own resources to assist them. Religious nonsense! Good bye to welfare, social security, food stamps, WIC, section 8 housing, and all of that other public aid stuff. It doesn’t really fit with the greedy capitalistic nation the U.S. has become anyway.

Seriously, do people who say that the U.S. wasn’t founded on Christian principles realize how absurd that actually sounds?
