Defending God’s Word in a Scientifically-Minded Society

Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible to be the inerrant word of God in the original autographs. We believe that enough manuscript evidence, quotations, and inscriptions exist to attest to the overall accuracy of transmission of the original texts, so that the book we have today conveys the correct words and intent of the original authors. We believe the Bible to be the only infallible source of faith and morals.

We believe in one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father and Creator of the Universe, Son and Redeemer of mankind, and the Holy Spirit and active Person in our lives.

God the Father is holy, just, and perfect, dwelling in an unapproachable light. The Father cannot allow any unholiness in His presence, and so must take propitiation for our sin. He offered that to Himself through Jesus. God is eternal, He was before Creation and will exist after Creation has passed away. He is not dependent on it, we are all dependent on Him. As Creator and sustainer, He has the absolute right to decide what will happen to Creation, and to define that within His creation which brings Him glory. He has clearly done so in His Word, the Bible.

We believe Jesus Christ is the only Son of God, who became flesh for our sake, was crucified, died, and was buried. On the third day, He rose again to claim victory over death. His death and resurrection tore the curtain that separated God and man, and He is the only way by which man may return to God. The Father draws us to the Son, through His grace we are granted the saving faith enabling us to enter God’s family and do the good works for which God is preparing us.

We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells all believers upon conversion, and that He distributes spiritual gifts as He sees fit. It is the Holy Spirit who will sanctify us, disciple us, and give us the strength and guidance to walk with Jesus and to bring glory to God with our lives. We become a new creation by His power, pleasing to God. Evidence of the Holy Spirit may be seen in the fruits of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control present in the believer’s life.

We believe that mankind is the special creation of God, who fell into sin when Adam first disobeyed God and was banished from Paradise. God, who creates us all within the womb, before any of our days came to be, attached a certain people, the elect, to His Son Jesus, and from that moment on the elect were destined to return to Paradise while being salt and light to the world right now, patterning their lives after Jesus’ teaching by the power of His Holy Spirit.

We adhere to the Five Solas of the Reformation: sola scriptura, sola gratia, sola fide, solo Christus, and solo Deo gloria.
